Skidamarink The "I love you" Song Illustrated by Jacqueline East

My 3 year old loves this one. She loves music of any kind and especially loves when I sing the book to her. A family of bears go through out their day showing the baby bear how much they love him. It's a quick book able to keep most children's attention. If you want to learn the song and sing it whenever this is a great way to remember it. I always add some actions to it. When you sing the skidamarink part you put the right hand under the left hands elbow with the left arm vertical at a 90 degree angle. While wiggling the figures, then you change hands. When you get to the part where they sing "I love you" you sign I love you. I, point to yourself. Love, cross your arms over your chest. You, point to the person you're singing with.

Cookie's Week by Cindy Ward and Tomie dePaola

This is a fun book to read, my girls enjoyed it. I also enjoy reading it because it really does capture the curiosity and the ability for kittens to get into trouble. Cookie gets into everything during the week and on Sunday he's supposed to rest, right. This book teaches the days of the week, not sure if the girls picked up on it but any little bit helps. I am just glad Cookie doesn't live at my house, I have enough to clean up without Cookie tipping everything over. I cringe when he climbs the drapes and when he gets into the garbage.
